Sherry Shen was born in China, where after completing her first masters she performed in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore with the Jiang Zha Gang Chinese Opera. She was also principal second violin in China’s first professional chamber ensemble, the Alexander Chamber Orchestra, in Nanjing. Sherry came to the Royal College of Music to study with Leonid Kerbel for her Master of Performance degree, and in addition to performing with the Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra, she was a member of the RCM’s Aeolian String Quartet, as well as appearing regularly with the London City Philharmonic, the London Film Orchestra, the London Firebird Orchestra, the Hornton Chamber Orchestra, the Goodensemble Orchestra, and the St. James Sinfonietta. Now Sherry is a full-time professional in London, working as a violin and chamber tutor, orchestral player, recording artist, and passionate chamber player.
