Barry Wordsworth (Conductor)

Born in 1948, in Surrey, England. Barry Wordsworth was the principal conductor of the BBC Concert Orchestra (1989-2006), becoming the conductor laureate in 2006. He was also the music director and principal conductor of the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra (1989-2015), becoming the conductor laureate. He has also been the music director of the Royal Ballet Covent Garden, and the Birmingham Royal Ballet. Wordsworth has recorded both canonical repertoire, as well as music by lesser-known British composers.
